Visited UniSIM for the first time this evening. I have often read about UniSIM and its work. But nothing like seeing the place in person, and talking to the people, to understand what they are doing and appreciate their dedication and hard work.
Had an engaging and enlightening discussion with UniSIM students and alumni (http://www.facebook.com/unisimalumni). It is not easy to study part-time for a degree, while working and raising families. One student couple, Alfred Toh and Natalie Chen, had a baby midway through their course (and wrote a book “A Glowing Tale” about their experience). Another student is a mother of four children (with no maid). But they all had passion and commitment, and had set their minds to succeed.
Will do more to help Singaporeans like them upgrade themselves and fulfil their dreams. – LHL
P.S. I learnt about the table tennis team Bronze from the students. Congrats Team Singapore!
